Montana Sisters Turn the Page on Hollywood: Desiree and Mariah Turner Launch Prose & Page Turners with Bold Vision for Film and Fiction

In 2025, sisters Desiree and Mariah Turner decided it was time to bring their lifelong love of storytelling to the big screen. Together, they founded Prose & Page Turners LLC, a new production and creative development company set to bridge the worlds of film and literature. Their debut project, The Prince, the Sister, and the Serpent, marks the company’s first foray into film production, with acclaimed filmmaker Omar Parker writing and directing.

While this is the Turners’ first experience as producers, they are guided by industry veteran Jonathan Gower, who has joined the company as a producing partner. Gower’s collaboration history with Parker includes the short film Salta, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and the hit YouTube platform Captain’s Log, known for its hundreds of thousands of subscribers and a Silver Play Button. Together, the trio aims to establish Prose & Page Turners as a hub for immersive storytelling and original intellectual property development.

Building a Creative Empire

Based on its name, Prose & Page Turners is dedicated to crafting stories that live up to that very promise, captivating audiences page by page, frame by frame. The company plans to focus on intellectual property creation and narrative development across multiple media, from novels and television to digital entertainment. Alongside The Prince, the Sister, and the Serpent, the team is already building a slate of projects with Parker that will carry into 2028 and beyond.

At the top of their growing list of properties is Providence, an original action-adventure novel written by Desiree Turner and Jonathan Gower. The novel will be released through online retailers in December 2025 and is already being developed as a potential future film or television series under the company’s banner.

Providence follows Agent Jasmine Carter, a relentless investigator who specializes in exposing corrupt politicians. When a childhood friend and former CIA operative turns up dead, Jasmine inherits an ancient text that thrusts her into a shadowy conspiracy tied to myth and prophecy. She reluctantly joins forces with Ian, an unassuming everyman, and his roommate Horus, an ancient avian alien and former Egyptian god with a modern-day penchant for tormenting the local mailman. Together, the trio must fight destiny itself to stop a plot that could bring about the end of the world.

From Montana Roots to Hollywood Dreams

Desiree Turner’s path to producing may seem unconventional, but her journey has always been rooted in a love of storytelling. Growing up in Montana, she spent countless hours at her local library, borrowing books and films by the basketful. A three-time state champion in Speech and Drama, Desiree’s passion for performance and narrative developed early, long before she earned her degree in microbiology from Montana State University in 2014.

“Even as a kid, stories were my escape,” Desiree said in a recent interview. “I used to ride my bike to the library and load up with as many books and movies as I could carry. I guess I’ve just never stopped chasing that feeling.”

Today, she channels that passion into producing and writing. Along with Providence, Desiree serves as an executive producer on The Prince, the Sister, and the Serpent and co-leads Prose & Page Turners with her sister. Outside of her professional work, Desiree remains an avid reader and lifelong fan of video games, particularly Donkey Kong Country. She also enjoys cosplay, bringing her favorite fictional characters to life where she can.

A Gamer’s Eye for Storytelling

Mariah Turner, co-founder of Prose & Page Turners and executive producer of The Prince, the Sister, and the Serpent, shares her sister’s creative spirit but draws much of her inspiration from interactive storytelling. A Montana State University graduate with a degree in community health, Mariah has long been fascinated by the narrative depth of video games.

“I’ve always loved games that make you feel part of the story,” she said. “Whether it’s Skyrim, Mass Effect, or Stardew Valley, there’s something magical about being immersed in a world where your choices matter.”

Her enthusiasm for gaming and literature helped inspire the company’s creation. Mariah has achieved perfection status in Stardew Valley, has completed multiple full playthroughs of Skyrim and Mass Effect, and cites Sherlock Holmes and Eragon as her favorite literary influences. Growing up, she had a passion for art but few opportunities to pursue it. Founding a production company has given her a creative outlet to merge those early interests with a professional pursuit of storytelling.

Looking Ahead

With The Prince, the Sister, and the Serpent now in production and Providence preparing for its December release, the Turner sisters are positioning Prose & Page Turners as an emerging voice in entertainment. Their blend of literary sensibility and cinematic ambition sets the stage for a company that values story above all else.

Working alongside Parker and Gower, the Turners are building a development pipeline designed to produce both compelling films and transmedia stories that resonate across formats. “We want to make stories that feel alive,” Desiree said. “Whether it’s on a screen, in a book, or online, our goal is to create something that stays with people.” For the sisters from Montana, Prose & Page Turners represents more than a company, it’s the realization of a shared dream. And with their first film already underway and an epic novel on the horizon, it’s clear this is just the opening chapter of a much larger story.
