Rick Walker is back in “action” to direct the sequel to “The Squad”, which will be produced by State 46 Films for Buffalo 8 Productions. (Working title, “The Squad 2”)
No cast has been officially named yet, but Walker hinted by saying “a lot of familiar faces and a few new ones” during today’s round table interview.
He added, “The Squad 2” is another fireball from start to finish!”
Kennady Ritter will produce for State 46 Films alongside Walker who penned the script for the sequel.
Alea Hansinger, Meghan Carrasquillo, and Grace Evans lead the original cast of dangerous and sarcastic bikini-clad, drug dealers blurring the lines between the good guys and the bad guys.
Wildly popular UFC fighter Julia Avila rounds out the main cast alongside Clint McGown, Jennifer Ferguson, Hannah Hunt, Shawnee Brittan, Ricky Catter, Jordan DragonKing, and Wil Wilson.
Being pressed for cast announcements, Walker did say, “‘The Housekeeper’ played by Wil Wilson is returning to ‘The Squad 2’ and I’m in developmental discussions about a spin-off film based on that character.”
When asked about the storyline, he jokingly replied, “He has a TikTok channel where he shares creative crime scene cleaning techniques with viewers.”
Pre-production on “The Squad 2” is set to begin in March with no date for principal photography announced, but this can only mean one thing…the original movie “The Squad” is getting closer to release.
