Alaska Airlines is set to broaden its network with the addition of seven new routes connecting California and the Pacific Northwest, starting this October. This strategic move aims to enhance travel options during the busy holiday season.
Among the new offerings are three flights introduced from Hollywood Burbank Airport, situated just north of downtown Los Angeles, to various destinations in Oregon and Washington. In a bid to cater to winter travelers, Alaska Airlines will also provide new seasonal service linking sunny San Diego with the snowy slopes of Sun Valley.
Additionally, Boise will now have direct access to yet another Southern California airport. At the same time, a new route will connect Palm Springs to Santa Rosa, merging the warmth of the desert with the cooler temperatures of California’s wine country.
Tickets for these new routes are currently available for purchase at alaskaair.com.
Kirsten Armine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines, stated, “We’re the only global airline based on the West Coast, and we’re proud to offer the most flights and seats between California, Washington, and Oregon. These new additions further expand our ability to take our guests between growing markets in California and the Pacific Northwest for leisure and business travel.”
The new nonstop routes include:
- Burbank-Eugene: Hollywood Burbank Airport becomes the fifth nonstop destination from Eugene, Oregon.
- Burbank-Pasco: Alaska Airlines stands as the exclusive carrier connecting the Tri-Cities region of Washington state with two Los Angeles area airports: Burbank and LAX.
- Burbank-Redmond: In Redmond, Oregon, Alaska Airlines solidifies its position as the number one carrier, marking Burbank as its sixth nonstop destination.
- Boise-Ontario: This route provides another direct connection from Idaho’s capital to Southern California, solidifying Alaska’s commitment to serve multiple airports in the Los Angeles Basin.
- Palm Springs-Santa Rosa: This seasonal service links two popular destinations within California, marking Santa Rosa as Alaska’s eighth destination.
- San Diego-Sun Valley: Sun Valley is a new addition to the airline’s winter ski destinations from San Diego, enhancing the airline’s portfolio.
- Spokane-Orange County: This route offers eastern Washington residents a new option for travel to the LA region, catering to the unserved demand from Spokane.
With this expansion, Alaska Airlines continues to strengthen its presence in the market, ensuring travelers have convenient options while showcasing its commitment to growth in the region.
