Since its launch, the award-winning short film Shiva has been making waves
throughout the industry and captivating audiences. However, it is Rex Dane’s role as
the lead character that has been most impressive, seeing him named Best Actor at
various film awards in recent months.
For as long as Rex Dane can remember, acting has been his passion. Born and raised in India, he would act out his favorite scenes in front of his mirror; however, his parents
failed to understand his desire, mistaking it for mental illness. This led down a path of
addiction and other careers far away from his initial love. After securing a Bachelor of Arts in
India, he traveled to Australia, where he completed an advanced Master’s degree before settling in the United States.
While in Australia, he restarted acting with the goal of moving to Hollywood. Using the
challenges he had overcome as inspiration, Rex penned Shiva: a 108-page screenplay that mirrors some of the struggles he faced in the pursuit of his passion.
“Acting has always been in my blood,” said Rex Dane, “and bringing Shiva to life has been an incredible experience. The reaction we have received, winning multiple awards across the globe, has cemented my belief that the film is going to be incredibly popular, and I’m now actively looking for producers and directors who will support me in bringing this to reality alongside allowing me to reprise my award-winning role as Shiva!”
