Germain Motor Company Acquires One of the Largest Boat Dealers and Yacht Brokerage Firms in the Northeast, SI Yachts

Germain Motor Company has acquired SI Yachts, which is one of the largest and most successful boat dealers and yacht brokerage firms in the Northeast. Originally called Staten Island Yacht Sales before expanding into other markets, SI Yachts was founded in 1964 by Frank Bongiorno. Frank established the company as the longest-operating Viking Yachts dealer in the world and revitalized Staten Island Marina. After more than 60 years in the marine industry, Frank is retiring.

SI Yachts is a new boat dealer for premium brands such as Viking, Princess, Absolute, Prestige, Pardo Yachts, and Valhalla Boatworks. The company has expanded over the years with offices in Jupiter, Florida, Newport, Rhode Island, Old Saybrook, Connecticut, and five locations throughout New York.

Germain Motor Company is a fourth-generation family business founded in 1947 by Warren Germain, a personal accountant for Henry Ford. Germain Motor Company owns dealerships in Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Arizona, and Montana and represents luxury brands such as Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus. Germain Motor Company acquiring SI Yachts comes just two years after Zach Germain, CEO & Partner of Germain Motor Company, established Germain Yachts and was awarded the Pardo Yachts territory on the west coast of Florida. Germain Yachts quickly grew sales volume and acquired an incredible shipyard, previously known as Molly’s Marine, in downtown Naples, Florida.

“We couldn’t imagine a more perfect opportunity and partnership to carry on the legacy Frank Bongiorno first started in 1964,” said Jay Hendrix, VP of SI Yachts. “The resources, technology, and team that Germain has is a complement to what we are building at SI Yachts. The future looks incredibly bright and we can’t wait to expand our footprint in sales, service, and after-sale customer care with the help of Germain.”

“We are excited to have acquired the SI Yachts name, brands, marina, and current operations team,” said Zach Germain. “Short-term plans include revitalizing the Freeport, NY, location, growing the Montauk and Sag Harbor markets, and continuing to support the new yacht sales, brokerage, and after-sales service that has made SI Yachts a leader in the industry.”

The experienced team at SI YACHTS, including executive managers Jay Hendrix and Michael Landolphi, will remain intact. An all-new SIYachts.com website will also be launched soon.
