It was August 18, 2021, when the rising star, Latrell YT, released his single, “Never Had” which was followed by his second hit song, “Ain’t Gotta Worry.” Both hit singles have a high number of streams that captured the public’s attention. To bring “Ain’t Gotta Worry,” into perspective, the opening line, “Sh*t will never be the same no more like I thought it would,” – is a simple yet powerful statement to open the song with. This indicates as Latrell YT says, “When going through relationships or maybe even something less exclusive at the time, it seems like consistency is lacking from this generation. When a person is lying, cheating, and doing things behind your back that puts the relationship in a position that you simply can’t come back from. This is especially true when the bond created felt real when really they aren’t even on the same level.

So what is it like living in a city that’s full of hate and envyness? Should we be expecting a new album coming?

“Well, to be honest, it can be depressing and discouraging, because of the fact you have to look over your shoulders 24/7. You can’t show off the things you work hard for, because people want what you have, while also feeling like the odds are against you as it is, trying to make it out of St. Louis. You think that people who are rooting for you in front of your face genuinely want to see you make it when really they’re plotting on you the whole time, waiting for that opportunity to take you out! That’s what it’s like in my city. As for the album, I do have a new album that I am currently working on that will be released this year. It’s going to contain a lot of real-life struggles and relatable points for all listeners. The name of this project will be called, “STREET VOCALS.”

What should we be expecting from this album?

“A lot of testimonies from my past experience will be on there. From experiences about relationships with women to the trials that I faced and learned from to be who I am today. The major part of my project will be based on my testimonies in the streets and things that took place in the streets of St. Louis.
