Can you tell us about your journey and what inspired you to become an optometrist?

Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated with medicine and by the human eye and its incredible ability to provide us with vision. This fascination grew into a passion for understanding and improving eye health. I decided to pursue a career in optometry to make a positive impact on people’s lives by enhancing their vision and overall eye health.

What sets your optometry practice apart from others in Newport Beach / Beverly Hills?

At my practice, we prioritize a personalized approach to eye care. We understand that every patient is unique, with specific vision needs and concerns. By taking the time to listen and understand their individual requirements, we tailor our treatments and recommendations accordingly. We also invest in advanced technologies to provide precise diagnoses and offer a comprehensive range of services to address various eye care needs.

How do you stay up to date with the latest advancements in optometry?

Staying current with the latest advancements in medical optometry is essential to providing the best care possible. I actively participate in continuing education programs, attend conferences and seminars, and maintain memberships in professional organizations. This allows me to stay informed about emerging technologies, treatment options, and research findings that can benefit my patients.

What role does technology play in your practice?

Technology plays a crucial role in our practice. We continuously invest in advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to ensure accurate and efficient diagnoses. Technologies such as digital retinal imaging and optical coherence tomography (OCT) enable us to detect and monitor various eye conditions with exceptional precision. Additionally, we use cutting-edge tools for precise vision correction, surgery candidacy and specialized contact lens fittings, and more.

How do you approach patient education and preventive eye care?

Patient education is paramount to me. I believe that informed patients are empowered to make better decisions regarding their eye health. During consultations, I take the time to educate patients about their condition, treatment options, and preventive measures they can take to maintain optimal eye health. This includes discussions about lifestyle choices, nutrition, and habits that can impact their vision.

Can you tell us about your involvement in community outreach programs?

Community involvement is important to me. I actively participate in community outreach programs by conducting eye screenings at local events and schools. I also collaborate with charitable organizations to provide eye care services to underserved populations. It is my belief that everyone deserves access to quality eye care, regardless of their financial or social circumstances.

What is your vision for the future of optometry in Newport Beach / Beverly Hills?

My vision for the future of optometry is to continue raising the standard of eye care and to make it more accessible to all residents. I aim to further integrate advanced technologies into our practice and stay at the forefront of advancements in the field. Additionally, I hope to expand our community outreach initiatives to ensure that everyone in Newport Beach has access to the quality eye care they deserve.

What is one piece of advice you would give to individuals for maintaining good eye health?

One important piece of advice I would give is to prioritize regular eye examinations. Many eye conditions, such as glaucoma or macular degeneration, do not always present noticeable symptoms in their early stages. By scheduling routine eye exams, we can detect and address these conditions early on, potentially preventing further vision loss or complications. Additionally, protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays, maintaining a balanced diet rich in eye-healthy nutrients, and practicing good hygiene when it comes to contact lens use are all essential for maintaining good eye health.
