Lady of Heaven may be coming to a theatre near you on December 10th! Lady of Heaven is an epic historical drama directed by Eli King and starring Albane Courtois, Denise Black, and Ray Fearon.

The film tells a heart-wrenching journey of Lady Fatima, the daughter of Prophet Muhammad. Separated by 1400 years, an Iraqi child learns the importance and power of patience amid a war-torn country. After losing his mother, the child finds himself in a new home, where a loving grandmother narrates the historical story of The Lady and how her suffering as the first victim of terrorism spun out of control into the 21st century.

The movie depicts two plot lines simultaneously, the plight of an Iraqi child who loses his mother during the war and the heart-wrenching journey of Lady Fatima, the daughter of Prophet Muhammad.

Lady of Heaven producers Malik Shlibak and Hussein Ashmere speak on why they wanted to share the story of The Lady… “We felt it was a huge shame that the world is not familiar with Lady Fatima’s story,” explained Shlibak, “She is one of the most influential historical Arabian characters. Her story is fascinating and rich, we believe the Lady herself is a figure that, no matter which religious or non-religious background you’re from, you can resonate with and learn a great deal from.”

Lady of Heaven made huge waves at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and is greatly anticipated by many. The film’s trailer has already received millions of views, and over 200 people have made reaction videos to the film’s trailer.

In order to ensure all religious figures were represented respectfully, the producers used innovative technology and new filming styles. The producers wanted to ensure that a human portrayed no religious figure. Therefore, they used advanced CGI technology to display the religious figures throughout the film. The Lady of Heaven won the Best Visual Effects award at the I Success Gala in Cannes, France.

“There are 250 films on Jesus Christ, 120 films about Moses, 80 about the other Prophets, and 40 films about Buddha, but there are none about the life of Lady Fatima the Daughter of the Prophet Muhammed, until now,” said executive producer Hussain Ashmere.

In Iraq, the film has received extreme levels of support from fans. This massive reaction is probably due in part to the Iraqi heritage depicted in its storyline. People all across the country have taken it upon themselves to print the posters themselves and put them up on the walls all around the cities. The Lady of Heaven posters has been voluntarily taken from the film’s website, printed on home printers, and been placed by supporters on the walls of holy shrines. The film’s trailer has even been downloaded by fans from its YouTube platform and shown on big tv screens at intersections, on roadsides across all the main cities in Iraq. The anticipation is mounting all around the world for the release of this film.

“We wanted to relate it to modern day, what we’re living with. Many parts of the world are living with attacks, violence, some may call it Islam but it’s a misconception of Islam. We’re trying to reach out to the world and show them this isn’t Islam,” stated producer Hussein Ashmere.

The film shows the historical roots of groups like ISIS through the connection of ISIS at the time of Laith and similar groups at the Lady’s time. Through this, we can see where ISIS has originated, giving people a potential answer to their confusion about modern-day terrorism.

Lady of Heaven will be released in select theaters in Florida, Georgia, New York, Arizona, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Massachusetts, California, and Michigan. So make sure to get your tickets for the December 10th premiere!
