Yesterday, Marcus Hill, President of the Senior Executives Association (SEA)–representing the interests of career federal executives in the Senior Executive Service (SES), Senior Level (SL), Scientific and Professional (ST) and equivalent positions–released the following statement regarding the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) initial release of the electronic Plum Book per the Periodically Listing Updates to Management (PLUM) Act of 2022:
“SEA applauds OPM for implementing this important law that SEA advocated for and championed through Congress. We appreciate OPM’s efforts to balance transparency and accountability with employee privacy, including notifying affected employees,” SEA President Hill said.
“It is critical that the American people, researchers, and good government advocates have accurate data on public sector leaders. Currently, there is a lack of public insight into those most responsible for setting political agendas within government and implementing them. Establishing this database will assist with mitigating this longstanding challenge. SEA supports OPM as it continues to release this data responsibly,” Hill concluded.
